RUN FOR DES - Great Silk Run Challenge Charity Sock

To support an incredibly meaningful cause, we’ve teamed up with Ryan to create a special edition Run for Des charity sock, a unique collaboration designed to raise money for Age Connects Cardiff and Vale. Ryan’s journey began in 2023 following the heartbreaking loss of his dad. In the midst of grief, Ryan and his brother Craig were determined to honour their father’s memory in a way that would make a difference. That’s when Ryan discovered running, not just as a personal challenge but as a way to give back.

He chose to support Age Connects Cardiff and Vale, a charity dedicated to helping older people in our communities feel valued, connected, and cared for. They combat loneliness, something so many elderly individuals face, especially as family life becomes busier and more fragmented. In 2024, Ryan took on an incredible feat by running from his hometown of Llanidloes to Cardiff to raise funds and awareness. But he’s not stopping there.

This September, Ryan is taking on an even bigger challenge: the equivalent of 10 marathons in 10 days, running from the border of Afghanistan to China. To help fuel this mission, we’ve partnered to launch the Run for Des sock, with 100 percent of profits going directly to Age Connects.
